What I Believe.

I was quite moved by Scottie's recent post over at the Heartland titled "Little Charlie and Me". He wrote beautifully about looking into the face of  the precious child in his arms, and seeing another face...the face of God. There were many comments  from readers of moving experiences along the same vein...how amazing newborn life is...the wonder of it all.

Someone visiting my blog recently asked if I believe in God.

We all believe in something. We all have faith, whether or not we believe in God. We have faith the sun will rise every morning, and will set every night. We have faith that the earth will continue turning, and the stars will be there after each sunset. We have faith that life originated from a chaotic Big Bang billions of years ago, or we have faith life came from the hand of a creative God.

Our faith determines how we view ourselves and the world. Are our rights given by the Creator, or by human governments? Are there higher laws that govern creation, or just laws created by man? Is there a purpose for our lives here on earth, or is there no special reason why we're here?

So, in essence we all have faith in something...

This is what I have faith in: I have faith in the existence of  God who claimed to be Creator, Redeemer and Coming King. Everytime I write a check, the date on that check referres to the birth of Christ. His birth split time...into BC and AD.

I believe he is who he said he is, "The Truth The Way and the Life".

There's a beautiful song "Mary Did You Know" which asks the question of the mother of Jesus..."Mary did you know your baby boy has walked where angels trod, and when you look into his face you see the face of God, Mary did you know"?

Each day that I live, I believe is a gift. A gift from God. And I believe that little child, born so humbly, who died so violently, who's resurrection we celebrate in Spring,  indeed is God.

The True Enemy of America.

There's a book that just came out in paper back, by Dinesh D'Souza "The Enemy at Home", that speaks to the real problem we face with anti-Americanism in some parts of the world. What has caused the hatred toward the US by the fanatic terrorists that attempted to bring down America on 9-11? Is it our foreign policy? Is it the Palestinian situation? Our presence in the Middle East?

Well, he basically lays out the evidence, after extensive research, for something I have thought for years: that the leftwing culture of abortion, promiscuity, imodesty, "if it feels good do it" that has become pervasive in our culture, (thanks to Hollywood,  the drug culture, and leftwing agenda), has created fear of cultural  influence from the West, in many places in the Islamic culture. That is why they call us the great satan. All they see of America is the filth the left produces through their voice in Hollywood.

With the help of Hollywood, and those in government who promote abortion; Planned Parenthood, who puts clinics around the world encouraging premarital sex in teens, the left has created a fear in many countries, that Western "culture" will influence, and eventually change theirs. Many in other countries who would embrace democratic ideals,  fear the cultural influence of the West.

It is very sad that the world doesn't see the true picture of America...of hard working decent people who love God, family, and country. Who help their communities, who give to the poor and less fortunate, and help their neighbors. The world doesn't see the battle that parents have, fighting leftist propaganda in schools and Universities that fill the minds of their kids with the leftist ideals.

This is a cultural battle that we must continue to fight here in America. And it is something we should keep in the forefront of our thoughts as we consider who to vote for in this coming election. Who will be the most likely to help our cause in the moral battle we face, and our continued influence in the world? Do we want federal dollars promoting abortion and the leftist agenda abroad? Do we want people in the leadership of our country who's voting record or lifestyle promote the radical left's agenda for the world?

We have a job to do, those of us who love our country and want to hold back the evil in the world. We must continue to work to hold back the advancement of the leftist world view, and we must continue to articulate why our vision is the better vision for the world and for America. We must continue to fight the "enemy at home".

May God help us in this endeavor, and may God bless the United States of America. And as Reagan once said, may we be the Shinning City on a Hill.

With All Due Respect...

I have a friendly disagreement with some of my  fellow TH bloggers.

I am hearing a lot of people saying that it is "unprincipled"  for a conservative to vote for McCain or Huckabee, because they are not conservative, and they will ruin the party. They say it would be better to let the dems win, to teach the party a lesson. If  the country  goes down the tubes, we will find another Reagan, like the good ol' Carter days.

I respectfully disagree, and object to that premise. Who is really putting the party above the interests of the country?

To those who say I have no principles if I vote for a pro life, pro- marriage, pro-national defense candidate, I say, how principled is it to give up our pro- life, pro- marriage,  pro- national defense principles, by not voting, and allowing  the pro- abortion, anti- marriage, pro- terrorist, pro- ACLU justices party to win?

I say it is unprincipled  NOT to vote for our nominee, not because of the party but because of the country. The party will go on, we will have another conservative leader like Newt or Reagan, some day. But right now there are too many issues of radical importance for me to put the party before the nation.

If Mitt Wins Tomorrow It's No Thanks to Rush.

Rush cracks me up. He has bashed all the Republican candidates continuously since the beginning of the campaign for the 2008 elections. No one has fulfilled his dream of another Reagan so he has bashed ALL Republican candidates as not living up to the Reagan standards.

Now he is faced with the possibility of his least favorite getting the nomination, and we all know the conservative is Mitt Romney, but since Rush has bashed ALL the candidates, he can't complain if his favorite, Mitt were to not make it.

I am disgusted with Rush because he is not helping the conservative cause. His whining and complaining could wind up assisting the Democrat candidates, in one of the most critical elections in history!

Hey Rush, I have news for you. People have already voted via mail in ballot. It may be too late for people who have realized Romney is the best man. They have listened to you whining about all the candidates, and may have taken your word for it and not voted for Mitt, possibly even voting for a Democrat.

I am voting for Mitt Romney, because he gets a check mark on all conservative issues. I believe he can win despite your constant negative ranting.

Rush, you can't have it both ways. You can't bash all the Republican candidates as not being the perfect Reagan, and also get the most conservative candidate elected.

I hope everyone like me who is a conservative will vote Romney, and tell Rush you've had it with his bashing our side.

When Romney wins, it will be no thanks to Rush.

Is The Wicked Witch Dead?

I have to admit, seeing the Wicked Witch, and her side kick Willie go down in South Carolina makes me smile...it seems some aren't willing to stay on the Clinton plantation where the leftist white elites keep them in chains while they dole out welfare morsels to keep them dumbed down and dependent.

Is it possible that there are folks on the left willing to shed the chains, and claim their freedom from the liberal plantation that has held them down all these years?

On the one hand it gives me inner joy to see the liars from Arkansas, who have cheated their way through life, go down in flames in another state that seems to have shed it's past prejudices. On the other I see a man (Obama) who appears quite likeable, and who will be tough to beat, but who's socialist ideas are just as bad for America.

Could this be the beginning of the end of the old guard in the Democrat party? Is the Wicked Witch dead? Has the spell been broken, or is the Obama victory in SC a short lived dream?

I have mixed emotions. I'm happy for those who have broken out of the Clintonian spell, but I fear the country could be mesmerized into believing that we can sweet talk our way out of the WOT, and equalize outcomes for everyone, in an imagined Utopia on earth.

My New Year Wish List.

This year I would like to make a list that would be read by Hollywood, Politicians, and the Media. My wish would make life more positive, pleasant, enjoyable, stress free, wholesome, and uplifting. Here it is:

For Hollywood: For starters, be honest about ratings. Let's face it, R is now X, PG-13 is now R, PG is now PG-13, And G is the Left's method of brainwashing the kiddos with their world view, using animation, clueless animals, and the environment.
Second, can you please desist with the animal instincts approach to female/ male relationships? Drop the grunting and groaning, loose women ripping the clothes off of their latest one night stand, and the general message that people are just like animals ...can we have some decency and dignity, please, and leave the crass behavior to the imagination? I'd like to be able to go to more than two movies a year...

For Politicians: Can you just be honest and tell people who you really are, and what you stand for?

For the Media: Can you eliminate your biased views and just report the news? How about just telling the truth for once? And, how about reporting good news and not every pathetic act of  low life losers?

Have They Finally Done it?

The Socialists in the Democrat Party, in their desperation for power,  and their desire to change this country into a socialist utopia, have worked for years to find a way to impose their views on the masses. Until now they haven't succeeded completely.

They have used the courts through activist judges to subvert the will of the majority, and are doing a pretty good job of it, but now they may have the secret to complete success.

As I look at what is happening in America today, I believe  they have found the perfect formula to accomplish their goals..."scientific consensus", activist judges, and the propaganda media.

By constant repetition of bogus facts, they use the courts and corrupt scientists hungry for acclaim and money to convince the naive that the earth is warming, that climate change is a major threat to civilization, and the government is the only solution to save us from this catastrophe.

By combining faux science, doctored video, false statistics, and repetition though the propaganda media, the socialists have found the perfect formula to take control of all aspects of our lives, and tell us it is for the good of the planet.

Will the demsocialists  win, and turn our country into the socialist utopia they have always dreamed of? Will Al Gore go down in history as the Father of the new America?  Has socialism found the perfect formula to impose it's controls on the rest of us through the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on humanity, "Global Warming"?

Are Environmentalists Putting Our Nation at Risk?

Since the politicians in the majority continue to succumb to environmentalist pressures not  to let us increase our oil supplies, should  President Bush step up to the plate and sign an executive order to save the country from an oil crisis?

I'm not an expert on executive orders, but I'm assuming that is an option which the president could consider under the current oil situation with the demands increasing in China and India,  prices going sky high, and our dependence on foreign oil putting the country in a serious predicament.

We can't afford to be depending on unstable governments for our oil. We must start taking steps to allow more offshore drilling, open the Arctic National Wild Life Refuge to oil exploration, along with research into other energy sources, if we don't want to  face a dangerous crisis down the road.

It seems if the elected officials had the best interest of the country at heart they would have taken action back in  1990 to drill in Alaska, and by now we would have the oil supplies needed to keep the prices and supply under control.

Would an executive order be our only option with the current do-nothing congress?

Home Assembly Projects...How to End a Great Marriage in Two Hours...

The other morning as I was heading out  for  my usual walk,  I grabbed my radio, put the dial on "Rush" and headed out the door, only to walk out into a downpour...very unusual for Southern California, btw, but it  made me think I should go get a treadmill, for days like this!

I proceeded to a department store that had featured a nice looking treadmill on sale, and after a nice guy helped me lug the thing to my car and load it into my Jeep Liberty, I hit the road to the house where I was planning to open the box,  set up the treadmill, and have my first work out under the shelter of the gazebo in my back yard...

I have a feeling some of you are chuckling right about now...

To my dismay, when I opened the box I found an endless array of screws, nuts, bolts, washers of every possible size and shape, and tools I didn't recognize, to get the job done! I couldn't believe it!

I have always prided myself for being a "tomb boy", and being the only girl in the neighborhood who could tear down an overhang I didn't like (before my husband came home from work), lay flagstone, paint an entire house,  install wall paper, AND hang Christmas lights outlining the roof  of the house, the year my husband had knee surgery...so with gusto, and no trepidation, I ripped into the treadmill assembly project.

After a half hour of laying out all the screws, nuts, bolts, washers, miscellaneous tools, I had just finished putting six screws into the base structure, when I realized I had used the wrong screws!

Needless to say, two hours later, with my husband's help I got the treadmill together by the time the sun went down!

I was joking in the title of this piece about the end of a great marriage, but it was one of those interesting experiences that can test a marriage...

Why is it that half hour assembly projects always turn into hours of pure torture? Is it just me?

I have another question...what do I do with all the left over parts?

The Absurdity of Not Voting for the GOP Nominee.

I have my preference as to whom I would want to be the nominee on the GOP side this next election. I am hoping the nominee is my guy.

If I happen to not get my nominee, I'm not going to act like a child, whine and moan, and let a Marxist win because I want to teach the GOP a lesson.

For those who seem to think that is a smart idea, let me remind you that having a Marxist in the White House, is not the best way to further the conservative cause.

Most conservatives are pretty smart people, so it amazes me when some think that voting third party or not at all is a good idea if they don't get their choice for the GOP nominee.

I've heard all the hyperbole of Rudy being the same as Hillary etc etc, and friends, if you believe that, I have a bridge you might want to buy. Being Mayor of a liberal state is a lot different than President of the USA. I have more faith in people like Rep Peter King who is endorsing Rudy, than those who have the hate Rudy syndrome, and are not willing to listen to what he has said he will do as president. He's not my choice for nominee, but if it's between him and Hill, it's a no brainer. Rudy is not a Marxist.

There will always be those who are less conservative than I am running for office, and until all the Rush "babies" grow up and run for office, we will still have some out there that won't be 100% conservative  100% of the time. But I am not of the mind to give the country over to the extremes because I can't have my perfect conservative in 08.

For those of you here on TH who want to be little "clones" to be popular with someone who gives you kudos,  you say  you will do the worst, and let a Marxist win. I wonder what you will really do in the privacy of the voting booth...I hope the right thing. I for one, will not be influenced by those who would send our country into chaos because of having a tantrum to "teach the GOP a lesson", and I hope there are more of me out there in the real world than you...

I Love Socialists

The socialists on the left can no longer hide who they really are. The truth is coming out, and it isn't pretty. The democrats have tried for years to fool the gullible among us into believing they are  the party that is for freedom of speech, the party that feels our pain, cares for the downtrodden...but in truth they are sensors, and they create pain. They create confusion and mayhem by spreading lies, hate, ignorance and misinformation.

The demsocialists have hidden behind lies and creative titles, such as "progressives", to fool people into believing they are the "smart ones", the ones who know what's best for us oafs.

Harry Reed, the Waxman, and the Clintonistas are in the process of showing the world who they really are, and they mean business about gaining power, no matter how they have to go about it. They are desperate for total and absolute power, and if it means using the tactics of their soulmates from the Soviet era, so be it. They are feeling their oats, and with the help of the MSM, Media Matters, Move On and Soros they believe they can crush Rush, Hannity, Levine, and anyone standing in their way.

Chavez must be pleased to see the party he supports here in America emulating him.

An Officer and a Gentleman.

The contrast between a man of honor, General Patraeus, who has earned medals of valor in service to our country, and the spoiled brats on the Left in the House and Senate is astounding.

I am embarrassed for the Barbara Boxers and the John Kerrys of the blame -America- first crowd. These Senators, and their counterparts in the House, who can't hold a candle to the accomplishments of General Patraeus, and Ryan Crocker, who with such class and intelligence gave their report on the Iraq war, have the audacity to treat them with disrespect and condescension.

My thoughts as I watched their performance in disgust, was how did these imbeciles ever get elected?

I personally hope that the American people will throw every last blame- America- first- let's- lose- the- war leftist out in 08.

God bless General Patraeus, our troops, and God bless America.

Democrats Persecute Minorities Who Are Conservative.

The Democrats can't handle minorities being in positions of power. If they succeed as did Alberto Gonzales without liberal help, as a conservative, the liberals really hate it, and persecute the individual with religious zealotry, as has been the case with Attorney General Gonzales.

The dems have shown their true colors, and the MSM has joined in and finally  got rid of Gonzales. The first Hispanic Attorney General appointed by a Republican president, is simply not acceptable to the dems.

Will they go after Condi next?

Don't Call Our Brave Troops "Children"!

If I hear another lib call the brave men and women in our volunteer military, "children", I just may throw a fit! I am so tired of hearing the leftwing yellow party insulting our brave military by saying "we need to bring our children home" and "we're sending our children to die"! What an insult to men and women who have volunteered to fight for our country after the murderous attack on our soil by cowards, who flew planes into the Towers in New York, the Pentagon in D.C.,and the field in Pennsylvania, killing over three thousand innocent American citizens.

How dare these leftwing elitists, who have done nothing but undermine the cause of our brave troops, and aid and abet the enemy, use such disrespectful and condescending language when speaking of the men and women they couldn't hold a candle to, and who are more mature, intelligent, and brave than any of them!

Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and those in the demsocialist party, have done everything they can to defeat our own country in this WOT. They have the gaul to say we need to leave Iraq  in disgrace, abandon the Iraqi people and their budding democracy,  in the hopes of blaming the resulting demoralizing defeat of our troops on Bush and the Republican party. All this under the guise of  "bringing our children home".

My hat is off to the men and women of our armed forces who are fighting for the rights of the "children" in congress and the  party of whiners they represent, who are truly an embarrassment and an insult to this Union.

I salute the members of the Navy, Coast Guard, Army, Air Force and Marines! The men and women who have put their lives on the line for our great land.

May God bless them and give them success! And may God continue to bless America.

Hillary Can't Win, But Bill Can.

The "comeback kid" has officially launched his world campaign. Appearing with the popular icon of the left, former South African President Nelson Mandela, ol' Slick is in his glory, taking questions from the audience of groupies, who idolize the first black American president.

The AP reported that "the former president says he's ready, should his wife be elected to the White House, for role reversal"...and the report continued... "Bill Clinton charmed the crowds in South Africa this week showing the diplomatic skills he could put to use if his wife becomes America's first female president".

Let's face it, folks, Hillary just wasn't cutting it in her lackluster boring shrill campaign, so... the come back kid is coming to the rescue! And if anyone with a brain hasn't figured it out yet, Hillary could never win the presidency if she weren't married to Slick. The sick truth is, it's really Bill who's running, for a third term. This is the co-presidency running again, just like they did the first time. Two for the price of one...only we are now liviing the nightmare of their failed first presidency, ie, the WOT.

Bush managed to rescue the country from the ravages of the co-presidency and it's failure to handle the gathering threat, and his policies have kept our country safe, despite the constant anti-Bush drumbeat from the MSM, the Left and some on the Right.

When Bill is back in the White House for his third term, we will learn how bad things can really get.
